About Us

Colourphill is a Toronto-based communication design firm.

Since opening our doors in 1998, we have been creating impact and producing results by distilling designs from your business that speak in your voice.

Each project we undertake has the potential to make a real difference to your success.
We transform ideas into words, words into strategies, and strategies into elegant solutions. We take the time to fully understand our clients’ business, industry, challenges and goals.

As a boutique firm with big-firm capabilities, we design with clarity and purpose, offering in-house digital and IT capabilities.

We’re proud of our long-term relationships with our clients, some lasting more than 15 years. We’ve learned that while many things begin with a great idea, it takes a tried-and-true process of careful planning, continuous dialogue, meticulous implementation and timely delivery to bring it to life.

Our Work

We listen. We create. We deliver.

Our Team

Before founding Colourphill, Irina worked in both studio and corporate environments, earning her an appreciation of the challenges facing both designers and clients in the course of a communication project. Having traversed artistically from the renowned Academy of Art Institute in Moscow to the Ontario College of Art & Design in Toronto, she has crossed both longitudes and attitudes. Finding herself subject to cold winters yet again, Irina is drawn to warm locales and enjoys tennis, salsa and diving – activities that remind her of sunshine. Irina is a member of the Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario and the Advertising & Design Club of Canada. She has taught at OCAD and participates in the RGD Ontario Mentorship Program to help recent design graduates develop their careers.

    Senior Designer

Ellen’s enviable talents include a no-nonsense design aesthetic and diligent attention to layout detail. She also cherishes every opportunity to use her word wit to write and edit projects that require an added touch of creative ingenuity. Ellen studied corporate design at the Ontario College of Art & Design and then furthered her education at Queen’s University in English language and literature. She is a member of the Association of Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario. Ellen volunteers her expertise as Communications Director in her community’s ringette association and, in her spare time, participates in a writers’ roundtable and creates outdoor beauty in her garden.
      Margaret Lam

      Margaret Lam

      Informatics and Systems Designer

Margaret’s passion for art and design began in the specialized CyberARTS program in Toronto. While working as a graphic designer and production manager, she pursued a specialist B.A. Hon in music history, as well as a Masters in Information Studies. Margaret often draws on her diverse experience as a writer and researcher as part of the Colourphill team. Informatics and system design is her specialty. She takes into account the socio-technical dimensions of our projects, and develops communication solutions that address the needs of our corporate and community-based clients. When not at work, she’s busy working on projects related to the transmission of music knowledge online, making music and supporting various community organizations around the city.
